Inaugurated on 8th March 2021, the newly openedbranch of Crown Vet at Lajpat Nagar in New Delhi is short of a dreamland, which its founder Pratapsinh Gaekwad once dreamt for pets and pet parents. Its state-of-the-art facility is backed by a dedicated team of vets and well-trained staff at the service of furry buddies from 9am to 9pm. It’s an extension of Crown Vet’s initiatives started in Mumbai and Pune.

A mission for a noble cause
Crown Vet is a brainchild of Pratapsinh Gaekwad, a pet lover and a long-time pet parent. Sharing the story of this pet lover’s love for pets turning into a passion to create a place where pet parents can bring their pets and feel relaxed, Dr Vinkit Dhiman, who leads the team of vets at the Lajpat Nagar branch, tells that a few years ago Pratapsinh took one of his pets to a pet clinic in Mumbai for a surgery. He continues, “After the surgery he had to carry the pet in a bed-sheet since the clinic was about to close for the day and there were hardly any post-operative care services available. It broke his heart and decided to open a place where all facilities are available under one roof and the situation his pet went through should not be faced by any other pet patient. This was how Crown Vet was started with a mission for a noble cause.”

Brand ambassador Chevvy
Pratapsinh Gaekwad is a hardcore pet lover, a pet parent surrounded by various dogs from time to time among which a Great Dane named Chevvy who stands tall and serves as a brand ambassador of Crown Vet.The first branch of Crown Vet was opened at Worli in Mumbai in 2016, then followed by the second branch at Khar. After that, two branches popped up in Pune at Kalyani Nagar and Aundh. The Lajpat Nagar branch in New Delhi is the fifth and the latest one, which has a team of nine vets. In total, more than 50 vets are now working in the five branches of Crown Vet.

Dr Vinkit shares, “The chain of Crown Vet clinics keeps expanding with a vision to provide best standards in pet care across the country. Our aim is to achieve the vision by investing in veterinary infrastructure, ethical practices and a continuous training programme for the veterinary teams in all branches.” He adds that Crown Pet’s presence in multiple cities is gaining positive recognition of the brand in the veterinary space. The chain is planning to expand in north with more branches, particularly in Delhi-NCR

24 hr emergency service
When asked what makes Crown Vet different from other vet clinics, Dr Vinkit explains that in case of a pet who needs medical care at an odd hour they are there at all times. “Here the question is how many places provide emergency services to pets when needed at odd hours?” he asks, adding, “In this, Crown Vet is open 24 hours to handle all sort of emergencies.”

Dr Vinkit continues, “Literally, we are open all day long and whole night through when it comes to emergency service. We attend patient at any time under any given circumstance. This is how we are different from other clinics.” Shifts at Crown Vets are divided in such a way that all vets are available 24 hours to attend emergency calls.

Appeal during pandemic
As the second wave of pandemic ushered in, all branches of Crown Vets followed strict protocols for the safety of pet parents and every visitor. “We have spacious dedicated waiting areas and encourage appointment-based visits. During this unprecedented time of pandemic, we advice every pet parent to take stringent care to stay safe,” appeals Dr Vinkit.

Every vet at Crown Vet not only diagnoses and treats ailing pets but also provides holistic advice on safety, health care and various other aspects for pets and pet parents to live healthy life to the fullest.
