Solar-heated swimming pool for dogs
Pet clinic Nawab Dastan at Salt Lake in Kolkata is well equipped with modern facilities including an operation theatre and a boarding facility. The clinic has another venture— Guddu Hamam, which is a solarheated swimming pool exclusively designed for furry friends. Guddu Haman organises a Summer Pool P arty and now gearing up for a Winter Pool Party as well. These ventures are the brain child of Ashima Dutta Roy. FIRST INDI DOG-A-Thon in Guwahati successfully Organised
Initiated by the AWE Advertising.Weddings.Events team, originally organised in Bangalore, Guwahati witnessed the first ever INDI Dog-A-Thon (Season-3), not just a dog show but a show for the dogs, on 18th February 2018. Main objective of the event was to bring awareness of creating a suitable and friendly environment for street dogs through adoption drives conducted at the venue by award-winning pet rescuer Dr Sangeeta Goswami along with her organisation People For Animal (PFA). Dogs protest outside the UN Headquarters
A group of dogs gathered outside the headquarters of the United Nations in New York, staging protest in support of Forever Against Animal Testing, a joint campaign by international beauty company The Body Shop and leading organisation working to end animal experiments, Cruelty Free International. The protest by dogs of different breeds and sizes took to the streets with protest signs, bandanas and miniature banners in show of their support to the campaign. Season-3 of Pa tna Pet Fa shion Show
Organised by Amino Pet Care & Research Centre and Lions Club of Patliputra Astha, the Season-3 of Patna Pet Fashion Show was held on 25th February in Patna. More than 150 dogs from different parts of Bihar participated in the event. “The participants are mainly from Patna, but some are from other cities like Gaya, Muzaffarpur, etc,” says Dr Vikash K Sharma, director, Amino Pet Care & Research Centre. Mumbai to have three new pet crematoriums
BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) has sanctioned Rs 6 crore to build three new pet crematoriums in the city at Mahalaxmi, Deonar and Malad. The facilities will be available free-of-cost to Mumbai pet parents. As of now, Mumbai has only one pet crematorium at Parel, which is run by Bai Sakarbai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animals. BMC has identified a one-acre land in Mahalaxmi for one of the crematoriums, whereas the facilities at Deonar and Malad will be built on half-acre plots
DSP dog of UP Police passes away
Lab sniffer Tiger at Uttar Pradesh Police had cracked 150 cases single-handedly during his 12 years of career in the state active service. He rose to the rank of deputy  superintendent of police (DSP), the highest ever position any police dog would have achieved. Tiger breathed his last on 17th January 2018. With traditional guard of honour, he was wrapped in the national flag and buried.
