First ‘Nach Baliye’ winning Jodi – Supriya and Sachin Pilgaonkar are ardent dog lovers and Supriya proudly calls Hobo, their pet dog, a typical mama’s boy. Here, Supriya shares more about the Pilgaonkar family, which undoubtedly revolves around Hobo.

The popular daughter-in-law of the comedy serial ‘Tu tu main main’ – Supriya Pilgaonkar, wife of Marathi actor Sachin Pilgaonkar, is also a pooch lover and a responsible pet parent too! She and Sachin were the winners of the Nach Baliye, the TV dance contest for celebrity couples. Here’s what this petite actress has to share about her pet-child Hobo.

Hobo, our child…

“Hobo, our lil’ darling, a German Shepherd, came to us when he was just a few months old. Today, he is 5.5 yrs old,” tells the proud mom. And it was a great surprise for everyone, who knows Supriya as she used to be petrifi ed of dogs. “I always wanted a pet to enjoy the experience of dog lovers, even though I am scared of them,” she confesses.

Spending time with him…

I just love to cuddle him. He keeps following me around everywhere in the house! I also enjoy car rides with him and taking him for walks.

What I love about him…

Oh, absolutely everything! (came a quick reply!) He is my guardian angel and just brings joy to my life. I am really moved by his unconditional love. He is so loving and expressive that he can convey everything by just one expression. He is a loving dog but very naughty at the same time. (That’s what makes our pooches all the more lovable, right?)

What he loves about me…

Hobo is a mama’s boy. Since I have literally brought him up, he is attached to me the most in the house. I am very paranoid about his food and his health so, I guess he loves the attention that I give him. (Pretty lady, anybody will love your attention and Hobo is no exception!)

Hobo and vacation…

I wish we could take him for a vacation, but Hobo being the tiger…it’s very diffi cult. I defi nitely want to take him to some dog camp though.

Taking care of his needs…

I love to take care of Hobo’s needs personally. I make sure he is taken for a walk everyday in the evening. When I am at home, I take him down and cycle while making him run. It’s a good exercise for him as well as me!

Hobo’s favourite dishes…

He loves sweet things and pokes his nose in almost anything that we eat, but he is trained well so he knows he can’t misbehave when others are eating. Besides, he also loves leafy vegetables and meat.

His special treat…

He loves chewy sticks, but he knows that he will get two chewy sticks only, if he fi nishes his food. And once he does so, he will immediately go and sit next to the chewy stick box. Besides, he loves new balls that squeak.

Favourite activities together…

We both love going for walks and car rides and playing catch. At other times, we just love to cuddle together.

Any annoying habits…

Hobo hates people leaving the house. He will instantly start barking even if we utter the word ‘bye’ and the barking just doesn’t stop! Also, he is so possessive that he doesn’t like anyone being close to/hugging/kissing anyone else other than him. He will try to come in the way instantly. Basically, everyone should shower love only on him when he is around. It’s very adorable. To others, his habits maybe annoying, but I love every bit of his naughtiness.

His crazy antic…

When I just utter the word ‘out you go from the room’ he will sit down on his bed immediately and show his soulful eye. He simply refuses to leave my bedroom in the night and at times I need to drag him out. He can be that stubborn! What’s really funny is that when he just sits and stares outside the window and barks at pigeons, the pigeons just don’t care. It’s very cute!

Loving gesture…

When I return home, Hobo gives me a warm welcome. Moreover, he hides my shoes to grip me for going out agai.

Tips on responsible pet parenting…

Take your pet for regular check-ups to the vet and give lots of love to him. It is also very important that all the members of the family take equal responsibility of looking after the pet.
