Toughest medical challenge faced by me and my pet: Simbaah fell very ill once when he was only 10 months old. Being a first time pet parent I couldn’t understand that my pooch was not well. I rushed him to the hospital and he became fine after Dr Deshmukh took care of him for five days straight.
Role played by my vet: Dr Deshmukh was precise with his diagnosis.
A special quality about my vet: He is an animal lover.

Toughest medical challenge faced by me and my pets: It was when my elder dog Sammy was ill with blood in motion and vomiting.
Role played by my vet: I must say Dr Suhas is the best doctor. He was very supportive. He used to visit Sammy every day to 4give glucose & injection, his treatment and saved my dog.
A special quality about my vet: Of course, I trust him when it comes to my dogs. His treatment is very effective.

How I came across my vet: I met him when I had my first baby Takila, a Doberman, that was about 15 years back.
Do I visit the vet for regular check-up or only in case of medical condition: Mostly in case of medical conditions.
How long have I been visiting my vet: About 15 years.
Toughest medical challenge faced by me and my pets: With Whiskey and Spikey nothing serious, but Takila towards the end of his life had gotten seriously ill. He wasn’t eating for more than a week and he was passing blood in his urine.
Role played by my vet: Dr Jairam and the other doctors at his clinic helped Takila live another 6-8 months, so that when he finally breathed his last it was from old age and not suffering from any illness. Dr Jairam had also conducted surgeries on Takila for bladder stones & hernia and treated him multiple times for maggots, which Takila was extremely prone to contracting despite the best care.
A special quality about my vet: In my experience there is no doctor who has the kind of compassion and connection to animals like Dr Jairam has. One visit to him and my babies get healthy again. My respect and gratitude to Dr Jairam cannot merely be conveyed in words.
A ‘Thank You’ note for my vet: Thank you doctor for always being available, for patient even when I called at 7 am out of worry and for taking such good care of Takila every time he was ill. Thank you for being such a great friend to my babies.

How I came across my vets: They are popular vets in the neighbourhood with committed works.
Do I visit the vets for regular check-ups or only in case of medical condition: I make it a point to go to the vets once a month for regular check-ups.
How long have I been visiting my vet: For Diky now about six years.
Toughest medical challenge faced by me and my pet: Diky is very naughty. An earlier incident still gives me shiver as I might have almost lost him. Once I was so busy and delayed in getting his nails shortened. Dogs have general habit of scratching and Diky was also upto it. Due to the big nails and scratching coincidentally damaged his right ear tip and was bleeding profusely. I didn’t know what to do! Somehow I applied first aid and rushed him to the vets who were very prompt to take care. But bleeding made Diky so weak that he became very thin, unable to move for quite a few days and had to be under special care. Finally, by God’s grace, vets’ medicines and mom’s special care Diky bounced back to normal in weeks.
Role played by my vets: Dr DJ Sen Choudhury and Dr Konar were very calm in nature and their medication was very effective.
A special quality about my vets: They know and handle any situation very well and extremely friendly to pets.

Toughest medical challenge faced by me and my pet: When my dog had to be neutered. It was a major surgery and there were many complications.
Role played by my vet in helping to overcome it: Dr Tulpule is a very skilled surgeon and he handled the complications very competently. Today my baby is alive; thanks to this excellent doctor.
A special quality about my vet: Dr Tulpule is very calm and composed doctor and he is very kind to his patients and pet parents. He is very intelligent and at the same time very down to earth. He genuinely cares about the well-being of animals and goes the extra mile to being available as a doctor.

Veterinary clinic/hospital: Niti Bagh Pet Clinic, New Delhi
How I came across my vet: A friend who takes his dogs there recommended.
Do I visit the vet for regular check-up or only in case of medical condition: Coco Chanel visits Dr Santosh for medical condition when we are desperate for correct diagnosis.
How long have I been visiting my vet: We have been visiting Dr Santosh since May 2012 and will continue in future.
Toughest medical challenge faced by me and my pet: Coco’s genetic disposition to get struvites in her bladder. She was operated when a cluster formed and broke. The same got struck in her urethra. Emergency surgery was required and for two long months we had to make daily trips twice, to the previous vet to stop the bleeding. The stone formation started again and so did our nightmare.
Role played by my vet in helping to overcome it: When the prescribed tests were not indicating the source of problem we went to Dr Santosh for a second opinion. New tests and ultrasound revealed the return of the original problem but at an early and curative stage.
A special quality about my vet: Dr Santosh and his colleagues did not start the medication until they had all the reports in hand. The treatment given was effective and within three weeks, the struvites vanished. All three vets at the clinic genuinely care the pets.
A ‘Thank You’ note for my vet: Coco Chanel wants me to say a big BOW-BOW Thank You to Dr Santosh and his colleagues for making her healthy again.

Toughest medical challenge faced by me and my pet: Harry had vomiting and dysentery as it was his first summer in life.
Role played by my vet in helping to overcome it: It was on Sunday, mostly all vet clinics were closed, but I called up Dr Ghoore who prescribed some medicines on phone. After having the medicines Harry was fine after sometime. Then Dr Ghoore visited our home to see if Harry was alright.
A special quality about my vet: Dr Ghoore helped a lot when Harry got so unwell and he even didn’t charge anything for that.

Role played by my vet: Leo got sarcoptic mange and Dr Ashok was very quick in diagnosing the actual problem. He handled the case with utter sincerity and monitored Leo on daily basis till he was on his road to recovery.
A special quality about my vet: Dr Ashok is very patient and sure of any treatment and diagnosis. He once saved Leo from exercise-induced collapse (EIC) and thus collapsed. But the doctor was calm and focused on his treatment and revived Leo completely.

All of a sudden, I saw Dr Naik’s clinic on a by lane and I called him up after getting his cell number from the signboard. I rushed the pet to his residential area where he treated the pet under a street light.
