That Darn Cat (1965)
Directed by Robert Stevenson and starring Hayley Mills and Dean Jones, That Darn Cat! is a thriller comedy film which revolves around a story of bank robbers, a kidnapping and a mischievous cat who is known as Darn Cat or DC— a wily, adventurous Siamese tomcat. One night, DC follows bank robber Iggy into an apartment where he and his partner Dan are holding bank employee Miss Margaret hostage who replaces DC’s collar with her watch, on which she has inscribed the word ‘HELP’ and releases him to go home. Rest is how DC helps rescue Miss Margaret and bring the robbers to justice.
 
The Aristocats (1970)
This Walt Disney animated romantic adventure comedy film is directed by Wolfgang Reitherman and released by Buena Vista Distribution. Based on a story by Tom McGowan and Tom Rowe, it revolves around a family of aristocratic cats, and how an alley cat acquaintance helps them after a butler has kidnapped them to gain his mistress’ fortune which was intended to go to them. The film features the voices of Eva Gabor, Hermione Baddeley, Phil Harris, Dean Clark, Sterling Holloway, Scatman Crothers, and Roddy Maude-Roxby.
 
Harry and Tonto (1974)
This classic road movie is written by Paul Mazursky and Josh Greenfeld and directed by Mazursky. It features Art Carney as Harry in an Oscar-winning performance. Tonto is his pet cat. Harry Coombes (Art Carney) is an elderly widower and retired teacher who is forced from his Upper West Side apartment in New York City because his building is going to be razed to build a parking lot. He initially stays with his eldest son Burt’s family in the suburbs, but eventually chooses to travel cross country with his pet cat Tonto.
The Uncanny (1977)
The Uncanny is an anthology horror flick concerning feline revenge. The story is about London in 1912, when Miss Malkin is a wealthy woman who rewrites her will leaving her fortune to her cats rather than to her nephew Michael. Her maid Janet steals one copy of the will from the lawyer’s briefcase and tries to destroy the original copy which is kept in the safe. When Miss Malkin sees her attempt, Janet kills her. The cats avenge Miss Malkin’s death.
