Royal Canin signs a MOU at Invest in Maharashtra organised by IFCCI

The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) organized an Investment Conclave in Maharashtra announcing investments into the State in the presence of Shri. Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, &Mr. Jean-Marc Sere-Charlet – Honourable Consul General of France in Mumbai where in Royal Canin signed an MOU with Government of Maharashtra. The MoU is made to facilitate Royal Canin India Pvt Ltd.’s proposed investment in Maharashtra in a time bound manner.With an investment of around 100 crore, Royal Canin aims to employee 125 people in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra plant.

Addressing the gathering at the Conclave, Mr Govind Suryawanshi said Director – Corporate Affairs (Pet Food Business) said “French companies are key to supporting India’s and Maharashtra’s growth with both technology and capital for more employment. These Investment Conclaves serve as a vital platform for faster and more efficient collaborations with the State Governments of India on various levels. Royal Canin India Pvt Ltd, as a part of its further expansion intends to develop a Packing Centre in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, which will convert our bulk products into retail packs suited for the Indian market. This facility will have an automatic packing machine and associated utilities installed and will give direct employment to about 29 people when full capacity of about 40 MT per day is reached. There will also be an indirect employment opportunity of close to 94 persons who will be involved in various support activities like transportation, security, janitorial services, auxiliary packing material supply, etc.” He further stated that this project is part of strategic investment to strengthen resilient manufacturing network to make A better world for Pets and to serve “millions of cats and dogs.”

The event was organized in association with Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). The announced investments will add to the economy of the Sate and create 5000+ job opportunities in the coming years. The conclave embarked the day with B2G meetings with 14 French companies with higher authorities of the Govt. of Maharashtra to discuss investment opportunities in details.

As Indian and French companies sign various MoUs, LOIs for expanding businesses in Maharashtra, I am confident that this friendship goes to next level. I am thankful to all the eminent entrepreneurs and dignitaries for making this happen. These investments commitments of Rs. 5700cr in Maharashtra will create 5300 direct jobs!”
