Together enjoy moments of fun and laughter and it’s always time to show them how much they mean to us. – by Varsha Verma
Dogs bring so much joy to our lives year-round and here are a few reasons why you should bring joy to their beautiful heart and soul.
Dogs are family: Dogs bring so much joy in our lives, they are a part of our family and while having fun, can we leave them behind?
The joy of togetherness: Joy doubles when we share it with others. Take your dog on a walk, romp in a garden or just snuggle together by the fire…make beautiful memories with your pooch.
Dogs love the frenzy too: Dogs are excited when they see you happy. They share the same vibes as us. Sing along and see them woof along.
Mental stimulation: When you are actively involved with your pet they feel loved and wanted. Enjoy together with games like hide and seek, puzzle toys, interactive toys and treat toys. Create interactive ways to exercise depending on the breed and age of the dog. Provide them with chew toys, teach them tricks. you are their universe show them they are your universe too!
Be mindful of foods: Never feed table scraps or human treats to your pets as certain foods we eat are toxic to dogs. These include chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, garlic, cooked bones, etc. Instead, get some dog-friendly treats for your pooch
Keep harmful objects out of reach: Dogs are curious beings. They love to chew which can lead to serious digestive blockages. Dogs might also be tempted to chew on the electrical cords swallow balls, sniff and chew on batteries which are very harmful for them so always keep a watchful eye what your furry buddy is up to- specially when they are not visible and silent!
Provide a quiet space: Create a calm, quiet space for your dog where they can retreat A cozy bed in a separate room with their favorite toys can provide them with a break from any excitement.
Maintain routine: Try to maintain your dog’s usual routine as much as possible, including meal times, walks, and playtime. Dogs are creatures of habit, and having some consistency in their day can help reduce stress.
Include your dog in family fun: Dress your dog in a festive sweater or collar and take family photos. Many dogs enjoy the attention, and the photos make for great keepsakes. Buy them a new toy, or a cozy blanket to keep winter at bay. Cherish them each moment.
Take time to relax and reconnect: Make sure to carve out time for yourself and your dog to unwind together. Whether it’s a lazy afternoon spent snuggling on the couch or a quiet evening walk under the twinkling lights, spending quality time with your dog will make each moment even more special.
Give them love: Remember, the best gift you can give your dog is your time, attention, and love.
Give back to dogs in need: Giving back to the community can be incredibly rewarding and is a wonderful way to honour your love for dogs.
