Yukta Mookhey

We all know that beauty queens have a huge fan following… people admire and love them. One such beauty is former Miss World Yukta Mookhey and what’s all the more admirable about her is her love for her canine. Here’s more on the beautiful bond between Yukta and her pet dog.
Former Miss World Yukta Mookhey, the beautiful Indian model and actress is a talented damsel. She worked as a software programmer before she was crowned Miss India. She has studied classical music for three years and even had a short stint with writing. Yukta never ever had any pets during her childhood… but she always craved for one and today she is blessed with a beautiful pooch, whom she fondly calls Mooshie, a Lhasa. Here’s what Yukta has to share about her loving fur ball Mooshie:
Spending time with my pet…
I love to spend my time with Mooshie…it can be just cuddling him, playing ball or running around with him.
What I love about him…
I really love his looks… he is so cute! And above all his antics are simply admirable. He loves destroying socks by holding them in his teeth. He also looks sweet trying chasing away the pigeons at the window sill. He is a complete entertainment package for me. I am great admirer of his intelligence and love the way he looks with innocent eyes when he needs to get something done.
What he loves about me…
I think what my dog loves most about me is that when I am at home, I give him full attention. I tease him, talk to him, take him with me for a jog or run up the stairs, love him, caress him and cuddle him. He likes sharing my food with him – but he likes them healthy – fruits and salads are most welcome!
Vacations with my cootchie-coo…
So far, I have not been able to take Mooshie on vacations as there are not many hotels which welcome our pooches. It will be wonderful if hotels in India make special arrangements to take care of their pet guests as well. Nevertheless, whenever it is possible, Mooshie comes with me for a car drive.
Taking care of his needs…
I do take care of my pet’s nutritional requirements. I am very particular about what he is being fed. I always stay in contact with his vet to ensure he gets all that he needs as per the season. I also make sure he does enough exercise, which comprises of daily walks after his meals and some run in the house and outside as well.
What he loves to eat…
Mooshie is a crazy dog; he eats everything that humans eat – potatoes, carrots, biscuits, chana, rajma, vegetables, fruits, bhel…anything that is crunchy and is slipped under the dining table! (tells Yukta with a laugh!)
His favourite treat…
His favourite treats include paneer, chicken and chewy doggy sticks. Infact, he can be bribed very easily with these treats.
Any annoying habits…
Though I don’t want to hurt his sentiments, but what I don’t like about Mooshie is that he barks a lot everyday at the same people like the driver or the dhobhi. He has a sharp memory and also recognises people with whom he has not met for years. What I don’t understand is whether he will stay in their embrace as if he was living on a low supply of oxygen until they arrived. (Did we see a hint of possessiveness in Yukta’s eyes? I think, yes!)
His funniest antic…
Perhaps the funniest antic is when he tries to eat up a fl y or when he runs after it. Sometimes, he even tries to paw it away and it looks all the more funny.
Tips for readers…
It is a joy to have a pet and we must give them love and pay attention to their needs, including grooming and of course food, just as we would do for a child. Above all, we must learn to give them unconditional love but along with proper discipline as we want our pooch to be a wellbehaved kid!
