Build a Bond’—A Himalaya Companion Care initiative to drive pet adoption

The Himalaya Drug Company has organised a pet adoption drive ‘Build a Bond’ in Bengaluru. Committed to supporting this cause, the event witnessed over 165 furry friends along with their pet parents. The event was addressed by Neti Patel, Business Head – Animal Health Products, The Himalaya Drug Company; Dr Ritesh Sood, a veterinarian and Marketing Manager, Himalaya Companion Care; and canine behaviourist Anand Vishwanathan, urging the audience to consider adopting pets rather than buying them. A walkathon with dogs was organised as part of the ‘Build a Bond’ initiative.
“People are increasingly aware of the hardships that animals face and are involved in creating a better place for pets to live in, by engaging in initiatives to help abandoned pets find permanent homes. Himalaya is encouraging pet adoption and we have been consistently partnering with CUPA. In the coming years, we are hopeful of partnering with more organisations across India and paving the way for a more positive movement towards pet adoption,” said Neti Patel. Adressing the crowd, Dr Ritesh Sood explained, “That is a misconception among people that dogs need to be brought home while they are pups to develop an attachment. Adult and senior dogs easily get attuned to new pet parents as well. Hence, I urge people to not only look for puppies but also adult and senior dogs while adopting a pet.”
