Garfield :
Garfield needs no introduction. Jim Davis’s famous cartoon cat since 1978, Garfield, exhibits all traits of a fat, lazy, cynical orange cat who loves lasagna, coffee, and his remote control; his owner, the long-suffering Jon Arbuckle; and Odie, who falls prey to Garfield’s scheming ways. No one should be deceived by his tiger-ish appearance. He is one of the most loved cartoon characters of all times. People adored him so much; that the animated series of Garfield was not enough, so within four years, Garfield came even in comic strips. It was introduced to the world in just 41 newspapers but quickly became the fastest growing and most widely syndicated comic strip ever. Today, the strip appears in over 2,570 newspapers and is read daily by 2,63,000,000 people around the globe. A blockbuster feature film by Twentieth Century Fox cemented Garfield’s legend on the silver screen.
Duchess:
This elegant cat-lady starred in Walt Disney’s, The Aristocats, a 1970 animated feature. She is the royal Persian cat created by Walt Disney. Duchess was modelled on Eva Gabor, and her voice was given by Eva Gabor herself. The story of Aristocats revolves around a family of aristocratic cats (Duchess and her three kittens), and how an alley cat acquaintance helps prevent a greedy butler from murdering them. Duchess proves to be a most caring and loving mother.
Felix the Cat:
Created by Otto Messmer, Felix the Cat first appeared in a short film in the early 1900’s called “Feline Follies”. Soon thereafter, he made the transition to print. King Features syndicated Felix in over 250 newspapers in a multitude of languages, reaching practically every corner of the globe. He’s now published through Felix Comics Inc, in various magazines and publications. Felix’s image was the very first image to be broadcast over television airwaves. Soon Felix was playing in every TV set in the world…he was suddenly an overnight sensation! Felix fashions have been featured in Elle, Elle Junior, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, People and the New York Times. One of his popular movie is “Felix the Cat Saves Christmas,” where the Professor and Rock Bottom plot to create the world’s biggest blizzard in order to ruin Christmas and Felix the Cat and Poindexter travel to the North Pole to help Santa Claus and save Christmas.
